Thunder Underground was founded in 1995 by two guys from Oklahoma. Upon inception, the goal was to spread our views of the music we loved (and hated) to anyone willing to pick up a copy of our local fanzine. It was around the Tulsa area at record stores like Starship Records & Tapes, Mohawk Music, Buttons, and Sound Warehouse.. After a few attempts at a web presence in the decades that followed, T.U. found its rebirth in 2014 with a modest following on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. The Thunderground Underground mission remains the same.... a couple of music geeks doing their best to spread the word on unsigned bands around the midwest and beyond, as well as bringing forgotten albums and underrated artists a spotlight they deserve. We have now launched ThunderCast, a podcast that will feature music talk from the world of rock and metal, as well as guests that range from artists to those behind the scenes. Thunder Underground has always prided itself on not being able to be pigeonholed on one genre of rock music... heavy metal, hard rock, glam rock, alternative rock, progressive/power metal, stoner rock and everything in between will be spun across the T.U. social platform. Thanks for stopping by and the continued support.
