Thunder underground

Podcasts. Reviews. Rants. Raves.

Thunder Underground was founded in 1995 by two guys from Oklahoma.  Upon inception, the goal was to spread our views of the music we loved (and hated) to anyone willing to pick up a copy of our local fanzine.  It was around the Tulsa area at record stores like Starship Records & Tapes, Mohawk Music, Buttons, and Sound Warehouse..  After a few attempts at a web presence in the decades that followed, T.U. found its rebirth in 2014 with a modest following on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.  The birth of the podcast soon followed in May of 2015. As the episodes piled up, and the guest alumni grew, T.U. became a place for both unsigned regional artists as well as Rock n Roll Hall of Famers. The podcast became a multi-time nominated media outlet, was aired weekly on a NYC based radio station, and has produced countless new stories via outlets like Blabbermouth, Bravewords, Metal Injection, Alternative Press, and many other media sources. In late 2021, Jason stepped away from Thunder Underground, but has remained a close friend and supporter of the podcast. Trent has carried the podcast forward into its 2nd decade of existence as Thunder Underground has always prided itself on not being able to be pigeonholed in one genre of rock music... heavy metal, hard rock, glam rock, alternative rock, progressive/power metal, stoner rock, grunge, numetal, country rock, classic rock, and everything in between is celebrated across the T.U. social platforms.  Thanks for stopping by and the continued support.
